What is Write for Enclaive?
Write for Enclaive aims at supporting developers by building content and sharing knowledge with the community, with a specific focus on Confidential Computing, Security and Privacy topics.
Through the program, community authors help grow Enclaive’s collection of DevOps, software development, and implementation tutorials—all based on free and open-source software. Authors help, by sharing their knowledge, developers and architects around the world expand their know-how while also improving their technical writing and presentation skills. And as a bonus, these publishers receive a personal payout from Enclaive and a big thank you from the community!
Our community page should be the Wikipedia of Confidential Computing, providing all the content and knowledge needed for everyone to become an expert in this field and be able to turn to this open source community for help and input whenever needed. To do so, we need you! So take a seat, fasten your seat belt, sip on your coffee and start sharing your valuable knowledge with us!
What is the payout structure?
Authors typically receive 200€ per contribution (article or video). Most new contributions are paid out at 200€; complex production-focused topics may receive up to 300€. Updates for existing contributions, such as distribution changes, are typically paid out at 50€-75€, based on the number of changes and technical content.
All payouts are at editorial discretion.
How do you get published?
Our structure looks as follows: Apply, collaborate, write, revise, publish, and repeat.
- Apply: Apply to the program with your topic idea, an outline of your tutorial, and a writing sample that showcases your ability to explain your technical knowledge to others. We publish only original content under a Creative Commons license. Please make sure your article/video was not published somewhere else.
- Collaborate: If you’re accepted, you’ll work with the editorial team to refine your topic and outline for your tutorial.
- Write: Once your topic is approved, it’s time to write. To help you get started, you can refer to our Technical Publication Guidelines.
- Revise: After finishing your article, submit your draft and collaborate with our editor team to revise your work.
- Publish: After revisions, your editor will send your payment, publish your article and ask what you want to write about next. Enclaive will promote your article across all of our social networks, but we also expect that the author will likewise promote his article on his/her social network. A win-win situation for both!
- Get paid: In order to receive the payment, the author is required to promote his article on his/her social networks at least 2x within a two-week timeframe. Afterwards, our Editorial Team will send the payment within 14 days and inform the author.
- Repeat: Build a strong relationship with the editorial team by suggesting new articles that you want to write about and sharing your knowledge with the open source community!
What topics should you choose?
We like to give you a free hand in choosing what you should write about. However, we do have some topic areas, we would like you to focus on, i.e the big focus areas of this community library:
- Confidential Computing
- Data Security & Privacy
- Cloud management & orchestration
We encourage our authors to either work on procedural or conceptual articles on Confidential Computing or create engaging videos on the topic to help other developers expand their know-how in this area as well.
